OCY
- The long and the short
This wagon has been
languishing for awhile whilst the vendor was off safaring. In April this year we'd had enough and moved it in with the company
that is doing the BMF wagon.
And 60 days later we have completed engineering samples, so now we're off to production at the end of July.
Stock will arrive just prior to the Liverpool exhibition in October.

BMF Milk Tank wagon
Decorated samples arrived late last week along with the first engineering samples of the 2AE bogie.
Whilst there are a few minor paint corrections to be made all the engineering is complete and this wagon is also slated for production to commence late July.
The build process will be a little slower than an all plastic model as the majority of the parts are hand crafted, however these guys are keen and we're told to expect them in late August.

Lastly, thanks to all our customers who dropped by at the Thornleigh
exhibition for a chat and a word or two of encouragement.

RAIL
TANK CARS
The Good news,
our rail tank cars are now being assembled, see montage below.
One of the main reasons for the delay in the assembly was
the complexity of decorations each of these cars
receive and the factories' determination to make each example
perfectly. No one had estimated the enormity of the this task in
the initial scheduling and whilst the wait has been extremely
frustrating we think you'll agree the end result worthwhile. The
shipment should be ready around mid June, whilst we
have been waiting, we have taken the opportunity to include
some Single releases in this production run, please see our
order page for the Single car order
form. These Single cars
are uniquely numbered so as to avoid duplication with our triple
packs. The first packs we'll receive are the 50s Pk A and B,
these will be followed shortly by the 70s and 80s Pk A and B.

Here are some rail tank car samples we received recently:

BMF OAK Milk Tank Car
Some of you may have seen the hand made sample of our milk tank car we've had on show recently, we had the factory make this to enable us to display something whilst multi medium concept was developed and the tooling was completed. Last month we received the first engineering sample of the OAK car, as a multi media concept it has allowed us to develop a wagon of which there were only two examples. We use traditional POM plastic for the bogie, like all other manufacturers, ABS for the chassis moulding and resin and etched metal for all the other parts.
It's hoped that the low cost base of the resin body and the other resin detailing parts will allow us to further develop this style of production to include many more unique wagons. It does however impose a limit on the volume of pieces we can obtain using this process.
