Today our Vline
period Rail Tank Cars arrived, in addition to our original
single pack and to meet customer demand we’ve added a second
pack of Vline cars as well as a pack of Australian National
period cars.

70s Rail Tank
Cars
Our
long awaited 1970s Rail Tank Cars will arrive in Port Botany
mid next week, we’ll commence posting all prepaid orders the
last week of August. Whilst the delivery of the cars has taken
slightly longer than planned the delay has allowed us to
re-run some of the extremely popular single packs from last
year. With the return of AMP6 with medium sized logo we’ve
added two new cars AMP8 and AMP9. Both of these cars feature
the largest sized logo carried by any Ampol RTCs. The BP cars
feature BP249, BP238 Black Oil products with a new roller
bearing bogie and BP245 with Lower Hung bogies and clasp
brakes.

We have some limited quantities of our popular colored OCY/NQOY back in stock,
OCY PTC Teal Pack A and B, NQOY Indian Red Pack A and NQOY Road grime Pack A and B.

We have also received the first engineering sample of our new
NQPY / RQBY skeletal container wagon. This model is due Qtr. 4 2013 and will be available in the following liveries, Freightrail, Freightcorp, National Rail and Pacific National.

The BCW is now in production and will be available July 2013.

1950s
Tulloch Tank Cars - Triple Packs, plus Single Cars
|
|
Our final
rendition Rail Tank Cars have started to arrive. First are the
1950s Pack A and B and six new single cars. Five of the single
cars are Tulloch standard round dome cars.

Back in
March when we received the 1970s samples we had assumed
this meant that they’d be first to arrive, however the factory
interpreted our request differently and completed the 50s
sets.
The 1970s
cars are now nearing completion and will be shipped
shortly.

The 1970s
Tulloch Rail Tank cars are now in production and should
arrive in April, these models now reflect our updated tooling.
Once the
1970s models are shipped, the factory will complete the 1950s
triple packs and some unique 1950s singles cars. All our
planned RTCs will then follow in close succession.

We
also received production samples of our Tulloch Standard dome
RTCs, these will follow the 1950s cars into production.
|

BCW
/ FWM
The
decorated BCW/FMW samples have also arrived, the decoration
for both cars is excellent. We are now waiting for some final
tweaks to the tooling for the BCW roof clips and the bogie
side bearers.
Production
and assembly should commence mid-April for a possible June
Long Weekend delivery date.

BMF
We
have commissioned a new run of OAK cars with two new
decoration schemes included, these should be arriving mid
2013.
|
|
SDS Models
office will be closed for 2 weeks from the 17.03.13 until the
31.03.13. We are traveling to the factory to inspect
these models along with all our other projects.
We will be
attending the Hurstbridge Model Train Exhibition on the 30th
and 31st March 2013.
Gwydir Valley Models
will represent us at the Canberra Model
Railway Expo 23rd and 24th March 2013.

Railways
M
Cattle Wagon
|
|
Our
Victorian Railways M cattle wagons are now available. All
pre-orders of pack A and B will be dispatched by 22.01.13,
pack C and D the following week.
In choosing the last series of M wagons we provide modellers
and collectors the opportunity to enhance their fleet with one
that will complement their existing collection.
This series of M wagon, built in 1952/53, has some very
defining VR features. The body
sides have vertical stays to the lower edge of the solebar.
The end panels below the roof line are solid canoe shaped
sections. The handbrake is similar to the ubiquitous GY wagon
with the brake cylinder mounted along the wagon centerline.
Photographic evidence showed two styles of axle box was common
along with a variety of spoke and disc wheels. Our triple
packs reflect all these features and more.
The roof is removable and a steel weight is supplied to
increase the mass as required. See
