In 1954/5 Clyde Engineering NSW built 11 10,000gallon rail tank cars for Commonwealth Oil Refinery (C.O.R) later BP Australia for use in Victoria. These cars were built on a standard design 45' riveted underframes and featured single and double compartment and dome designs. Originally designated Oil Tank they later were coded TW and then TWF / VTQF these wagons were fitted 5' 11” wheelbase friction bearing bogies.
In the late 1960's the 5 single compartment, single dome cars (407 to 411) were converted to carry bitumen.
